Gardelegen captured. Here the Gardelegen massacre was discovered by the 405th Infantry. 1,016 prisoners of the Nazi's were locked up in a barn which was then set on fire. All died.

21 April 1945
Von Clausewitz elements decisively defeated. Ozarks fight their last battle on the banks of the Elbe river.

3 May 1945
Russian Army contacted.

4 May 1945
Remnants of German 9th and 12th Panzer Army surrender.

7 May 1945
All fighting ceased. Last Ozark killed in action.
